Okay, so just checkin' up on the site guys! Well, no, that's a lie, I actually want to kinda brag/share something.
Okay, so when my dad is composing, I very often get feelings like "If only I could do that!" or "man that'd be cool to know how to do that" or "how the frick does he do that?!?" or "if you're still reading these then I am frankly surprised"
Okay, so you guys all know the Colonel Crush theme - Bahm buh DAT Daaa! Bom bah dataaa; bumbadatdah daa! and you all know the mission impossible theme, you all know the bond theme.... Basically, they are all amazing. But how can I write strong orchestrations? How can I use strong orchestrations to help my music be strong besides just adding distortions and the occassional tritone?!
So yeah, I opened up the midi on my computer and composed this - http://www.fairhurst.com/michael/ActionTheme.mp3
its not really mastered, it has crappy music libraries, and it is an amateur composer making a theme based off of someone else's... but here goes!
have fun with the CC:3!

Wazzup guys? Hozit goin'?
Okay, so I've played flute for four years now, and I play guitar, have since December last year (although that was bass until the final day of Spring Break) and I am totally psyched about my new recording studio that I set up. I got a teeny weeny little mixing board (but its all I need, so don't you go dissin' it or else!), I borrow my dad's mic to mic my Crate 15 w amp (yeah laugh it up jerk) after going through a DS-1, an AW-1 with the Roland EV-5 attachment, then into a DD-3, then into a DigiTech Flanger. I have a Ibanez RG-120 as my guitar, and a Washburn bass (that's my dad's).
Okay, so alot of bragging for a little advice, but I am wondering what I should get next:
1. A Michael mic (as in my own mic)
2. A better amp
3. A better distortion pedal
4. experiment: get more pedals!
5. as nice a sound card as possible
6. A midi controller
7. You've got enough for now; form a band!
If you have advice, share it. If you don't, pretend to be impressed and I will love you forever. :P

Hey guys, how's it going!
So I am involved in Beginning Drama this year, my freshman year of high school, and we are doing the musical Oklahoma as a school, so I tried out, and I got in! Woot.
First practice was today, and it was very fun, dancing like a cowboy idiot. Today was also kind of crazy though... I have huge holes in my shoes, see, so me and my mom were gonna get some after school, except I had rehearsal. After that, I had about an hour and a half to eat and go to a basketball game with the band, and then I get back at like nine, with homework, and played Tony Hawk's Underground until I got a 1,808,000 point combo, heh heh. Now I am here writing this blog at midnight with school at Six O'clock tomorrow, math homework, a resume to fill out, and a vocabulary thing to fill out. Looks like I have been screwed, I think I'm just gonna go to bed.
But I never even got those shoes.
